Joseph "Joe" Hohman

Since February 2023, I've gotten into writing, drawing, and publishing my own set of comics called Passenger Pigeons. These absurdist comedies follow a bunch of pigeons, a rat, Frankenstein, and the ghost of Abe Lincoln (among others) on their various misadventures. I'm aiming to put these out monthly (or bi-monthly) if I get busy.

I post updates on my comics to my Instagram

You can buy print issues on my Ko-fi shop.

Postcards From the Far Side of Texas

I moved back to Texas this September after three years in Indiana. I had not planned to come back, but I was offered a job in Austin, and I wasn't in a position to be picky and wait for anything else to come around. Since I've moved back, I've been thinking a lot about my home state, what it means to me, and what my place in it might be. At the start of my move, I thought I might record my thoughts in a series of essays (essays I'd still like to write one day), but in the process of writing and researching these, I stumbled into a different project: a series of postcard collages and travel guides for fictional tourist traps and destinations in the Lone Star State.

For awhile I was posting new postcards each week. Currently I'm working on editing the best of these postcards into a zine (so I'm not posting any new ones), but if you're interested in checking out the old ones, you can view them here.
