Postcards From the Far Side of Texas

I moved back to Texas this September after three years in Indiana. I had not planned to come back, but I was offered a job in Austin, and I wasn't in a position to be picky and wait for anything else to come around. Since I've moved back, I've been thinking a lot about my home state, what it means to me, and what my place in it might be. At the start of my move, I thought I might record my thoughts in a series of essays (essays I'd still like to write one day), but in the process of writing and researching these, I stumbled into a different project: a series of postcard collages and travel guides for fictional tourist traps and destinations in the Lone Star State.

I'm trying to post a handful of these each week. I'm not sure how many I'll do or how long I'll keep this up, but if you're interested in checking this out, you can view the full set of postcards here.
